The Afford Day Program provides centre-based day programs covering areas such as: training for independent living skills, community access, recreation and leisure activities and work experience. There is no geographical restriction on who can attend, but clients must be able to access/arrange their own transportation to and from the centre. Clients need to provide their own morning and afternoon teas and lunch. This service will move to Marayong early in 2004.

A service for school leavers with disabilities 18 years or over who have moderate to high support needs. It establishes individually designed programs which support young people in making the transition from school to community living in a variety of activities, skills and vocational training. Primarily caters for people with moderate to severe intellectual disability - may also have a physical and/or sensory. Individual service plans are developed and reviewed yearly with focus on increasing the social, living skills and community access for clients. Service caters for 34 clients.

Dementia specific, centre-based Day Care program providing care, activities and day respite. Cost of $8.00 per day covers morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and transport from home to the Centre and back home at the end of the day.

The Day Hospital has geriatric clinics, rehab clinics, amputee clinics, a Day Centre, patients' workshop, podiatry (high risk foot clinic). Other therapies available (by referral) include physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, social work and access to dietetics. Diversional Therapy is provided via the Day Centre.

Contact: All new referrals must be made to the Coordinator on 4587 0222. Each client is individually assessed by the Day Centre Co-ordinator
Hawkesbury Day Respite for Older People provides daytime, centre based care allowing social interaction for people who are isolated. Services include: respite care to allow a break in a client's daily routine and to allow carers time to care for themselves; resources and referrals for other Community Services; transport; morning tea and lunch, an activity program, monthly outings, friendships. Social activities include: bingo, bus trips, exercises, good food, board games, playing cards, chatting with friends. One of the Thursday groups is specifically designed to meet the needs of people from a Non English Speaking Background.

Interaction Disability Service provides a range of services/programs including. Children's Respite Service; Community Services Division, Individual Programming Team; Post School Options/ATLAS; Supported Accommodation; Respite Options; Community Options Program. It should be noted that the area covered by Interaction is principally the Cumberland/Prospect area with some service delivery to Penrith (i.e. these services are not available in the Hawkesbury).
