Our Objective
The Hawkesbury Disability Forum is to be a
community voice
that will provide Service Providers, Service Users and Community
Representatives the opportunity to network, share information, identify
gaps in service provision, focus upon the specific needs of the
Hawkesbury community and introduce lobbying to push for needed services.
Our Vision...
To empower people
with disability and all who support them by facilitating the provision
of education, information and participation in being valued and
inclusive members of the community.
Our History...
Hawkesbury Disability Forum was formed
following a meeting
organised by a group consisting of parents, family members and carers
of people with a disability. The first meeting was held early in 2001
and was attended by a strong representation from all areas of the
industry involving work with a disability.
Following this meeting monthly meetings
have been held to
address the areas of concern about lack of services available to people
with a disability in the Hawkesbury LGA.
