The BIS works with people who provide services to people with intellectual disabilities who have challenging or offending behaviours. BIS staff provide services to individuals and their support networks in a range of community, residential, vocational and other settings throughout NSW. The model of service delivery is itinerant, where staff work to assist the existing service system to best support the person in the long term.

The programmer provides a comprehensive psychological assessment and reports including lifestyle and environment reviews and behaviour management plans. Other services include development of skills programs, key note systems and employee training in crisis and care management, behaviour management and teacher or training skills.
